Safeway is a chain of grocery stores that was founded in America in 1915. AppleTree was a chain of grocery stores formed in 1969 in Texas when Safeway opened its first stores in Houston, which were spun off under the AppleTree name in 1988. Many Safeway stores were renamed to AppleTree around 1990.
The former AppleTree that was at 6823 Highway 6 North in Houston, Texas had an arcade for several years.
