Central Park Mall's official grand opening was held on September 23, 1960. The fully-enclosed mall encompassed 339,000 leasable square feet and housed forty-two stores and services. The sole anchor was a two level (62,000 square foot), San Antonio-based Wolff & Marx department store. The Mall closed in 2018.
Gold Mine was a chain of arcades found inside various shopping malls across the United States from Hawaii to New York, along with some also existing in standalone locations. They were notable for having a mineshaft theme.
Central Park Mall had a Gold Mine arcade for several years.

Nearby in the mall was the What's Brewing Coffee, which had many pinball games, although the shop would end up moving. Falcon Video Games also had several video games, which was located around the corner from Gold Mine.
