Gold Mine at the Pyramid Mall Plattsburgh was an arcade that had operated in Plattsburgh, New York.

Background[]

Gold Mine was a chain of arcades found inside various shopping malls (including Oglethorpe Mall) across the United States from Hawaii to New York, along with some also existing in standalone locations. They were notable for having a mineshaft theme.

Pyramid Mall Plattsburgh was built in the mid-1970s by the Pyramid Company and was renamed Champlain Centre South when an newer mall named Champlain Centre North was opened across the street in the 1980s. The South section was gradually vacated and became a "dead mall". Much of it was demolished in 2000, leaving only K-mart and Red Lobster standing.[1]

Known games[]

Trivia[]

Gold Mine was owned by Nickels and Dimes Inc. (NDI) located in Carrollton, Texas. They also operated the Tilt and Electronic America chains as well until they finally decided to just focus on Tilt. All Gold Mines would either become Tilts or they were just closed down.
