The Royal Coach Inn (later known as Dunfey's Royal Coach and the Red Carpet Inn) is a motor inn that had been located on 55 Interstate Highway 10 North in Beaumont, Texas. The site is now occupied by Stellar Bank, Chili's, and PAM Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Beaumont.
Background[]
The hotel was originally established in the 1960s as part of the Royal Coach Inn chain and was later operated by Dunfey Hotels.[1] It operated a Coach and Horses Club on the premises.[2] Though considered the area's hotspot of entertainment at the time, the site was sold off to become the Red Carpet Inn and burned down in February 1982. Spectators flocked to the area to drink and cheer while the complex was consumed by the fire.[3]
The arcade[]
The hotel is thought to have had an arcade while operating as Dunfey's Royal Coach.
