Background/story[]
Ferris Bueller's Day Off is an American comedy that was released in 1986 in regards to the title character (played by Matthew Broderick) deciding to skip school for a day. He also convinces his girlfriend Sloane Peterson (Mia Sara) and his sick friend Cameron Frye (Alan Ruck) to accompany him as he makes a grand day out of it by eating at a nice restaurant, attending a ball game, joining a parade and more. Unfortunately he must outwit his parents, his school principal and even his own sister (the latter two want him caught) in getting away with his scheme.
In one scene at a pizza parlor several video games can be briefly seen or heard.
The restaurant/arcade[]
In an early scene, an unnamed pizza parlor is briefly shown. It has several video games, a television for patrons and parlor staff to view and a change machine for its games.
Bueller's principal Ed Rooney (Jeffrey Jones) thinks he spies Bueller from behind, stating "the game is up. Your ass is mine". The person turns around, revealing herself to be female (as she also had short brown hair and was wearing a jacket that was similar to Bueller's), which she then spits her soda out onto Rooney's face.
Known games[]
- Karate Champ
- Mario Bros.
- Pac-Man
- Phoenix
Trivia[]
- In the pizza parlor, only cabinets can be seen of Karate Champ and Mario Bros. Sound effects from Phoenix and Pac-Man can be heard but neither game is seen.
- When Rooney states "the game is up", this is actually a pun (possibly unintentional) due to him standing by several video games.
