Tilt at the Fort Henry Mall was an arcade that had operated in Kingsport, Tennessee.

Background[]

Tilt is a chain of video arcades found inside various shopping malls in the United States, which are spread from California to New York. Fort Henry Mall had a Tilt for several years, although it was possibly two different arcades originally (see Trivia).

Fort Henry Mall, formerly Kingsport Town Center, located in Kingsport, Tennessee, is the only regional shopping mall serving Kingsport. It opened on March 10, 1976, as a two-level mall located at the intersection of Fort Henry Drive and Memorial Blvd. It is owned by Hull Property Group. The mall has two anchor stores: Belk and Dunham's Sports along with an anchor restaurant Piccadilly. Over 65 stores have been located in the mall.

History[]

An arcade has been in the Fort Henry Mall since the property opened on March 1976, with a (Gold Mine) being near the mall's theater at the time. In the early 1990s, the arcade became Tilt. In the 2000s, it moved to its last location beside the Belk store. It finally closed in March 2018.[1]
